'Zakayo' the song coming soon - Shusho

Tanzania's Christina Shusho sparked excitement by teasing her upcoming song titled 'Zakayo'.

Christina Shusho, the renowned Tanzanian singer, sparked excitement on X platform by teasing her upcoming song titled 'Zakayo'. With a substantial and dedicated fanbase in Kenya, Shusho's announcement stirred chatter among her followers eager for the release, although the exact date remains undisclosed.

The buzz surrounding the song 'Zakayo' originates from its title, which some Kenyans have humorously linked to President William Ruto, drawing parallels to the biblical figure Zacchaeus, infamous for his greed as a tax collector who climbed a tree to see Jesus.

Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen pledged action following a viral video which captured reckless driving along Mombasa Road.

The footage shows two individuals hanging out of the car's back seat windows, seemingly enjoying themselves as the vehicle speeds along the bustling road.

Reposting the clip on his official X account, the transport CS called out the car owner for reckless driving. Murkomen specifically addressed James Gathogo Njeri, linking the car, a white Mercedes Benz KCX 959B class E-250, to the dangerous act on Mombasa Road. He expressed concern over the incident, hinting at a citizen's report prompting their action.

The CS questioned why the car owner would violate traffic rules on such a busy road, hinting at potential provocation directed at him as the Roads Minister.

“Mr. James Gathogo Njeri this is how your car white Mercedes Benz KCX 959B class E-250 was being driven on Mombasa road in one of those “where is the Minister” moments. We are concerned and a responsible citizen has alerted us. We shall do what we must,” Murkomen warned.

This incident follows recent statements from Murkomen about an upcoming crackdown on traffic rule violators. He announced new measures aimed at reducing road accidents, particularly targeting reckless behaviors like speeding, parking on highways, and inadequate vehicle safety features.

Data from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) revealed a concerning rise in road fatalities, with pedestrians, motorcyclists, and passengers among the most affected groups. Murkomen emphasized the need for increased enforcement, especially at night and on identified high-risk areas. The data indicated a 5.8% increase in road deaths compared to the same period last year, highlighting the urgency of addressing road safety issues.
